Today was Election Day at Z.N.E.S. Students were able to campaign this morning by giving out pencils, erasers, noisemakers, and other trinkets to get students to vote their way. To say there was melee in the main hall would be an understatement! We would like to congratulate all participants on a job well done!
Hawklings and Cheerleaders help Z.N.E.S. kickoff their A.R. Mighty Hawk Readers themed pep-rally on Friday, September 14, 2018. Click on attached files to watch the young ladies perform.
2nd graders at ZNES participate in the Learn, Grow, Eat, and GO! curriculum. Students engage in a vegetable tasting sampler activity and must use their five senses to respond in their student journals by giving a letter grade based on their sensory experience. Sammy Luera, from Texas A&M University, took the lead in demonstrating a recipe called "Carrot Cinnamon Crunch" for the students to taste vegetables mixed with other tasty ingredients to enjoy.
Z.N.E.S. students invited their grandparents to join them in celebration of Grandparents Day. The students took their grandparents to the gym for pictures and refreshments and to the library to read.
