This week, schools across the country will celebrate the benefits of healthy school meals during National School Lunch Week (NSLW), October 9-13, 2023. Through fun lunchtime events, special menus, cafeteria decorations, take-home activities and playful video game-inspired theme, NSLW will educate students and families about how to "Level Up with School Lunch".
At ZCISD we will be celebrating this week in many different ways across campuses. Menu for the week will include Pulled Pork BBQ Burgers and Mexican Hot Dogs. The ZCISD Child Nutrition Department will also hold a taste testing event on Thursday October 12, at Zapata High School, where new menu items will be featured for possible menu changes in the spring.
