Harvest at Zapata North Elementary
Zapata North Elementary has been working hard at growing a productive garden. Between the months of December and January, 2nd grade students at north elementary have harvested 15 lbs of Kale, 15 lbs of Butter Lettuce, and 8 lbs of Carrots. The campus grown produce was donated to the ZCISD Child Nutrition Department, where it was used to prepare and serve garden and taco salads. The campus grown gardens are part of the Learn, Grow, Eat, & Go! Program. We would like to thank Texas A&M AgriLife Extension for all their help and guidance with this program. Students at Zapata North appreciate seeing their hard work being put to good use at their campus.
