Attendance matters is one of the mottoes Z.C.I.S.D. endorses, and these Z.N.E.S. students took it to heart. They had perfect attendance for the 1st Six Weeks of the school year, for their dedication to coming to school everyday, the students were rewarded with a picnic.

This past week Z.N.E.S. students learned about fire safety from some very knowledgeable people, our local firemen. Students went on a tour of the fire station as well as the fire truck.

Special thanks go out to Susie, Alemi, and Pat for the amazing job they do everyday at North Elementary. ZNES loves our custodians!!

Silvestre Bustamante visited Ms. Lorena Salinas' classroom on Friday with the Junior Achievement Program. The Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Hawklings and Cheerleaders help Z.N.E.S. kickoff their A.R. Mighty Hawk Readers themed pep-rally on Friday, September 14, 2018. Click on attached files to watch the young ladies perform.

2nd graders at ZNES participate in the Learn, Grow, Eat, and GO! curriculum. Students engage in a vegetable tasting sampler activity and must use their five senses to respond in their student journals by giving a letter grade based on their sensory experience. Sammy Luera, from Texas A&M University, took the lead in demonstrating a recipe called "Carrot Cinnamon Crunch" for the students to taste vegetables mixed with other tasty ingredients to enjoy.
